You’ll face a lot of distractions when working from home. Imagine all of the things that might lead to procastrination when you have work a task that you aren’t really excited to do.

When working at home you might find it more alluring to do some chores than to tackle a hard task at work. Create a list of tasks that you need to get done in a day (here are some other tips related to time management). Then think of what would be an appropriate reward for each task. When you have finished the task, get that social media time or a favorite show without any guilt.

Another way how to incorporate rewards between the focused work is by using the Pomodoro technique. It means doing focused work for 25 minutes and then taking a 5-minute break for doing whatever you like. After 4 such cycles take a 30-minute break.

This way you will be able to focus more on the work at the allocated time because you have a deal with yourself to be rewarded after your efforts.

Change the working location

Sometimes the distractions sneak into your working day because you feel bored in your environment.

When working from home you have the luxury to choose your workspace. And no one has said that you should work in the same spot each day, right?

Consider working in various parts of your home depending on your mood and the tasks that you have to get done that day.
